Privacy policy
This policy covers the Opedev app for iPhone, iPad and Android and the website opedev.org. We collect as little as the app needs to work. The app and this website contain no advertising, analytics or tracking code, and we don’t sell personal data.
Who we are
Opedev is operated by Svayam Incarnation Limited, Registered in England and Wales, company number 15228262. Registered office: 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, England. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us about privacy at [email protected].
Your Intersink account
You sign in to Opedev with an Intersink account, which you create and manage at console.intersink.com. Your account, your businesses and your channels are covered by the Intersink Privacy Notice. This policy adds what is specific to the Opedev app.
What the app collects and why
| Data | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address and the sign-in codes you type | To sign you in, including two-step verification if your account has it | Sent to the Intersink platform |
| Sign-in tokens and your account’s id and email | To keep you signed in | Kept in your phone’s secure storage (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android) and sent to the Intersink platform with each request |
| A random install id, created by the app | Your sign-in is tied to this id, so you stay signed in when the phone moves between Wi-Fi and mobile data | Kept in secure storage and sent only to the Intersink platform. It is not an advertising id and isn’t linked to your device hardware |
| App version, build number, platform and operating system version | To keep the app compatible with the service and to fix problems | Sent to the Intersink platform with each request |
| Your list of projects | To show the channels your account can access | Loaded from the Intersink platform |
| Recently opened projects and your light or dark choice | To show your recent list and keep your setting | Stays on your phone only |
The Intersink platform also records basic request data, such as IP address and time, for security and to keep the service running. The Intersink Privacy Notice explains how long that is kept.
What the app does not collect
- Your dev server traffic. When you open a dev server, the app talks directly to your computer on your own network. Your code, bundles and logs don’t pass through our servers.
- Camera images. The camera is used to read a QR code. The picture is processed on the phone and is never stored or sent.
- Contacts, location, photos or microphone. Opedev itself doesn’t use these. A project you open is your own code, and it may ask for permissions such as the camera or location. The phone asks you first, and what that project does with the data is up to the project.
- Analytics, crash reporting or advertising SDKs. The app contains none.
Where data is processed
Data the app sends is processed on the Intersink platform, in the European Union. Svayam Incarnation Limited runs the platform. Traffic reaches it through Cloudflare, which provides network delivery and protection against attacks.
This website
opedev.org sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other websites. It is served from the same platform in the European Union, through Cloudflare. Our servers and Cloudflare process the request data any website receives, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for, to deliver the page and protect the service.
Legal basis
We process this data because it is needed to provide the app you asked to use (contract), and for our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and working. We don’t use your data for marketing.
How long we keep it
Data on your phone stays until you sign out or delete the app. Signing out removes the sign-in tokens, the account details and that account’s projects from the recent list. You can remove any recent item by pressing and holding it. Account data on the Intersink platform is kept as the Intersink Privacy Notice describes, and you can close your account in the console.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask to see, correct, delete or export your personal data, and you can object to or ask us to restrict how we use it. Write to [email protected]. We reply within one month.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or to the data protection authority where you live.
Children
Opedev is a tool for software developers and is not meant for children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
